The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as the Duanwu Festival, is a traditional holiday that commemorates the life and death of the famous Chinese scholar Qu Yuan. People race dragon boats in memory of Qu Yuan's patriotic spirit. People also wear perfumed pouches and hang mugwort leaves and calamus on their doors to drive away evil spirits and disease from their homes. The Dragon Boat Festival has been celebrated for over 2,000 years and is still enjoyed by many today!
